Polaroid ModelSmart 250S 3D Printer

Home 3D printing is here, with Polaroid's ModelSmart 250S. This state-of-the-art plug and play desktop 3D printer utilises either plastic or wood materials to create 3D models, based on designs that you can download or design yourself in the included software. It features a large inner print area, with a Wi-Fi camera installed so you can keep an eye on your creations remotely on your smart device (using the free Doby app). Speed and layer height are adjustable, and it automatically self-calibrates after each print. With huge flexibility, high print quality, and quiet and reliable operation, this is a home-friendly foray into the exciting world of 3D printing. High Print Quality The ModelSmart 250S uses the fused deposition modelling (FDM) technique to create high quality 3D designs, layer by layer. Vertical resolution is adjustable to between 50 and 350 microns (that's between 0.05 and 0.35mm per layer). Either wood or variously coloured PLA (Polylactic Acid) filament can be used, printing at an adjustable speed of 20-100mm per second. Replacement filaments come on chip equipped smart reels so you'll always know exactly how much is left. Big Prints The inner print area is a sizeable 250 x 150 x 150mm to allow for large scale and multiple models. And the front of the printer has two windows through which you can keep an eye on your model being constructed. Easy to Use Inside, the glass bed is detachable for easy replacement of the transparent adhesive double-sided Z-Axis sheets which are required as a base for each model. A very user-friendly feature is that the 250S automatically recalibrates itself after each job so there's no need for manual levelling or adjustment. And a 340 x 240 pixel LCD screen gives you easy fingertip touch control of operation. Remote Monitoring Using the free Doby app (available on iOS or Android) you can keep an eye on your printing from elsewhere in the house over Wi-Fi using the webcam that's situated in the print area. So you can always keep up to date with progress, and it's fun to watch your designs come to life. Design or Download Models Using the easy-to-use Polaroid Prep software (available on Windows & Mac) you can create your own models, or browse Polaroid's library of downloadable designs. Send them direct to the 250S if you're connected by USB, or save them onto an SD card which then slots into the back of the printer.
