This helps to achieve beautiful 12 megapixel still images with ease. You can decide how these will appear and be recorded by selecting one of a variety of different ‘look’ settings and adjustment functions. A 4K movie can create a picture-perfect 8.29 megapixel still too by extracting and saving the best frame. You can even record stunning high bit rate 4K movies to an internal CFast 2.0 memory card, and Full HD video or stills to a separate internal SD card. With Oversampling HD processing, you’ll be able to leverage the powers of 4K image capture in Full HD recording, with higher quality and clearer results. Closer and more stable shooting Fitted with a 10x optical zoom lens, the XC10 is optimised to capture 4K frames. Equipped with separate manual control rings for focus and zoom selection, you’ll be able to get closer to the action as it unfolds. Better still, a combined optical and electronic image stabilisation system, results in a smooth, steady image when shooting handheld or on the move. Please note: electronic image stabilisation is not available in all shooting modes Capture in any light Thanks to a high ISO of up to 20,000, sensitivity is enhanced to deliver an excellent low light performance. An integrated ND filter further improves exposure control in bright light or when a wider aperture is required. Wi-Fi control Control the camera remotely via web browser, Smartphone or tablet. Enabling the built-in Wi-Fi is ideal for when you are shooting in awkward places or if you want to get more in the shot. Creative options With Canon’s highly versatile XF-AVC H.264 codec, you can enjoy a range of high quality creative shooting options. Shoot 4K frames at up to 305Mbps/4:2:2/8 bit, for easy integration into existing 4K workflows or capture high quality, long duration Full HD movies at 50Mbps/4:2:2/8-bit. You can also adjust the motion recording. Slow it down to 1/4 speed (HD movies) or capture fast motion up to the highest speed of 1200x (up to 4K movies). Post production freedom Retaining more image information for colour correction and visual effects is the Canon Log Gamma. This works by effectively allowing you to record images to the same reliable and tested on-board Canon XF Codec but with a high dynamic range of up to 12 stops, flat image quality, low contrast and subdued sharpness – even in low light. And when a simple or quick workflow is required, there is a Wide DR Gamma. This often achieves a wide dynamic range of 800% but does not require post-production processing. Ergonomic design The compact and lightweight design of the XC10 has everything you need to shoot quality stills and frames. A rotating hand grip and large vari-angle LCD panel will allow you to shoot from a wide variety of angles. A high quality, capacitive touch screen makes for easy access and control of shooting. And for more comfortable eye-level shooting, or when shooting in bright light, is an optical loupe viewfinder.
